Gouverneur is a south-coast bay with no hotels or beach clubs on it — just sand and open water, reached by a steep road over the hills behind Gustavia.
What Gouverneur Is Like
Villas divide between elevated positions on the slopes above the bay and quieter inland houses a short drive from the sand, most in the four-to-six-bedroom range. The elevated sites trade direct beach access for long views south, where neighbouring islands are visible on clear days. Gouverneur is the largest area in our current collection by villa count.
Getting Around from Gouverneur
There’s nothing commercial directly on the beach, so most guests bring lunch down and drive out for dinner. Gustavia’s restaurants are the closest cluster, about ten to fifteen minutes over the hill.
Who Gouverneur Suits
Gouverneur suits guests who want a real beach day without the beach-club scene of St Jean, and who don’t mind that the villa itself, rather than the beach, is the base for meals and downtime. Guests wanting restaurants within walking distance should look at Gustavia or St Jean instead.
Villas in Gouverneur
Sixième Sens and Villa Aura are both in Gouverneur, within the area’s four-to-six-bedroom range.
